Fms-related tyrosine kinase 3(FLT3) has been reported to be the most commanly mutated gene in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and implicated in its ethiopatogenesis.In AML patient 17-34% of the leukemic blasts contain small internal tandem duplications (ITDs) in juxtamembrane (JM) region of the cytoplasmic domain of FLT3 gene. The onkotest R3030-20 kit has been optimized to detect these duplications with high specifity and sensitivity. The onkotest R3030-20 kit is not able to detect the two point mutations (D835/I836) observed in 7% of AML patients.
